When using quality products for cooking and baking, the results are in the final product. This goes for every ingredient used in even the most complex recipes, right down to the extracts. Nielsen-Massey has been crafting vanilla and other extracts for over 100 years. Their recipe for success is largely from using a cold extraction method. For the consumer, this means premium quality extracts that have the fullest of flavor. I was able to review a sampling of Nielsen-Massey vanillas and extracts to facilitate this post.
I love vanilla. When you have a good vanilla extract, you know any recipe is going to be amazing. I’ve been using the Nielsen-Massey vanillas for everything from baking to cooking this past month. It makes an amazing vanilla and vanilla/strawberry milkshake!
I’ve used the Nielsen-Massey vanilla in oatmeal chocolate chip cookies that were so delicious that I didn’t have time to snap a picture before they were gone.
There are many other ways to use vanilla and extracts from the most obvious above. Add vanilla to your favorite smoky barbecue sauce, add to your berry tart filling or chocolate pudding recipe.
The Nielsen-Massey website had a nice selection of recipes that really showcase the flavors of their extracts. I tried and posted about two.
The Lemon Bleu Cheese Cherry Tomato Salad Recipe was delicious with our garden fresh cherry tomatoes. The combination of lemon extract and the bursting-in-your-mouth tomatoes made a perfect combination.
The Almond Vinaigrette Salad Dressing Recipe was quite flavorful and unique with vanilla extract, almond extra, and maple syrup. It was the most unique salad dressing that I’ve ever made!
It goes great with a fresh spinach or leafy green salad. There is so much flavor in the dressing that you hardly need to add anything else to the salad.
Another reason to choose Nielsen-Massey extracts is because each time you buy their product, you are providing a better life for farmers in the developing world. Nielsen-Massey offers organic fairtrade extract for the finest flavor that is good for the environment, farmers, and the consumer.
This was not a paid post. My own opinions were used based on my perceptions and experience. Thank you to Nielsen-Massey who provided the products for review.
