White Teeth. Everyone wants them. Although I take care of my teeth, they have never been as white as I would like. I have sensitive teeth and cannot even use the whitening strips. Even most whitening toothpaste hurts my teeth. Recently, I was asked to review Optic White Toothpaste, a new kind of whitening toothpaste by Colgate.
Optic White Toothpaste Review
I actually enjoy trying new kinds of toothpaste. I like to try the new flavors. Colgate Optic White Toothpaste comes in two flavors Sparkling Mint and Cool Mild Mint. Both leave my mouth feeling clean and super fresh.
But, does it whiten teeth? Colgate Optic White Toothpaste uses the same whitening ingredient as whitening strips, unlike other whitening toothpastes. The hydrogen peroxide that is also found in stripes is what whitens your teeth. Colgate Optic White Toothpaste gradually whitens your teeth daily. This is why it doesn’t hurt my teeth.
My dentist told me years ago that I could try whitening strips by reducing the amount of time I just each strip and instead of using 2x daily for several days in a row, to use it every other day or so. I tried and it still hurt my teeth. Instead of using whitening strips once or twice daily for several days, with Colgate Optic White Toothpaste, you are using just a small amount of hydrogen peroxide daily. This has been the key for me to be able to use a whitening product with sensitive teeth. I have not had any teeth sensitivity since using it.
The Colgate Optic White Toothpaste claims that you will see whiter teeth in just one week. My husband and I have been using this product for 3 weeks. At week 2, I noticed that my teeth were actually whiter. When I mentioned it to my husband, he said he noticed the same thing about his own teeth! So, for us, we saw a noticeable change at around 2 weeks. Now that we are at week 3, my teeth are whiter than they have ever been. Granted, I don’t still don’t have the white-out white looking teeth as some people out there but I feel my teeth look healthy and naturally white after using this product.
The taste. Like I said, Colgate Optic White Toothpaste comes in two flavors, Sparkling Mint and Cool Mild Mint. Both make my mouth and teeth feel fresh and clean. The initial reaction upon trying this toothpaste was surprise. I wasn’t expected the foaming action that they hydrogen peroxide gives. It was surprising and odd at first, but not bad. Now, I don’t even notice.
Colgate Optic White Toothpaste is enamel-safe and whitens your teeth gradually, every day. Results may be seen within 1 week but best results will be seen in 4 weeks.

Optic White Toothbrush Review
Colgate also have a new Optic White Toothbrush designed to work with the Optic White Toothpaste.
There are actually 3 whitening cups on the toothbrush that are designed to hold the toothpaste better to be able to brush away surface stains better. Plus, there are polishing bristles that help get to the hard-to-reach ares on your teeth. I usually use a power toothbrush, however I have been using the Optic White Toothbrush for this review and my teeth feel very clean and fresh using the two products together.
