All Local YMCAs in the Akron Area have a great number of adult and youth activities alike. Adult activities focus more on training and fitness then sports, however.
The Akron Area Hiking Meetup is a group of local hikers. The number in the group is in the hundreds.
The Northeast Ohio Akron Soccer Association (NOASA) is a non-profit soccer league for adults. They have some 80 teams around Cleveland, Akron, and Canton, with, dare I say, MOST of the teams in Summit County! Apparently Akronites LOVES soccer!
The Shaw JCC offers Men’s Over 30 Basketball, A Women’s Basketball League, a Racquetball League, an Adult Co-Ed Volleyball League and more that this writer could not find that were out of season at the time this article was written.
The Spin-Off Cyclists Bicycle Club makes use of the Towpath Trail and welcomes in folks at all levels of abilities. Their weekly rides interest over 300 people on their meetup page. (Although, we guess you don’t for a pack of 300 bicycles and recreate a scene from some sort of Downtown Mumbai India Street Corner at Rush Hour)
Another Outdoor Oriented Adult Activity is the Akron Area Hiking Club. This Meetup organized crew has over 250 members subscribed to their group- and they have regular outings.
