A Grand Adventure through your Favorite Christmas Movies – Open until Jan 15th

The Mark Klaus’ “Holly”Wood Christmas Movieland Museum, located near Cleveland, OH, is the country’s only public repository of Christmas Movie Props, Costumes, and set pieces.  This world’s private collection has just opened for public viewing, and is on display throughout the Christmas Season.  This is a favorite destination for our family- it REALLY gets you in the Christmas spirit!

“This is the world’s largest collection of Christmas movie props and costumes – miracleThese are the authentic pieces that your favorite actors wore, that they touched and used during the production of the movies.”  Says Mark Klaus, Museum proprietor. “Our tour starts off with the oldest, rarest Christmas movie prop in existence -the 1947 Miracle on 34th Street opening scene sleigh and reindeer.”

The museum also includes props and costumes from recent favorites like Christmas with the Kranks and Fred Claus.  Will Ferrell’s Elf Costume, Dudley Moore’s Elf Costume, and little Brother Randy’s snow suit all appear from Elf, Santa Clause the Movie, and A Christmas Story.

“We have the giant 9′ Frosty from Christmas with the Kranks, we have the original special effects sleigh and reindeer from Santa Claus: The Movie.” Mark continues, “No longer will things be made like this – masterful designers and sculptors and engineers- they all worked together to give you these models, that give you the illusion of movement and such through all of the flying scenes, nowadays it’s beautiful, but its all done in a computer.”

IhadthattoyOne of the best attractions within the museum (for young and old) is the I HAD THAT Toy Collection. Fantastic displays of vintage toys line our halls showcasing toys from the 40s, 50s, 60s, 70s and 80s.  Toys ARE part of the magic of Christmas – just like the movies.  We love it!

I’ve heard so much about this place and it sounds like a great place to visit. I hope to be able to go next year, unless we can make it by the 15th!
