The Akron Zoo is partnering with Akron Children’s Museum to add a Minim Monster Obstacle Course now through March 24th at the zoo’s Komodo Kingdom building. The Akron Zoo is a great place to explore in the winter, we love walking through the snowy zoo and visiting our favorite animals, however it can be cold in Ohio during the winter so it is always nice to warm up inside. Now kids can run off energy and have fun with a child-friendly course of tunnels, balance beams, stair steps, stepping stones, and more!
There are 2 Mini Monster Courses for kids ages 1-3 and kids ages 4-12 to enjoy. Hurry! It’s only live through March 25th!
Plus, now through March 25th, Akron Zoo member will receive buy-one-get-one free admission into the Akron Children’s Museum. In return, Akron Children’s Museum members will receive free admission into the Akron Zoo.
“I am so grateful for Ben Tegel, one of the museum’s Lifetime Trustees, who had the vision to create a course that promotes one of the museum’s pillars, Health & Wellness,” said Traci J. Buckner, executive director at Akron Children’s Museum. “Now, with the support of our Akron Zoo friends and the Orr family, we are able to share the course with even more children in our community.”
“The Akron Children’s Museum is a wonderful gem that the greater Akron community is very fortunate to have,” said Doug Piekarz, president & CEO at the Akron Zoo. “We are thrilled to be able to partner with the museum and offer our guests the opportunity to explore what the Akron Children’s Museum has to offer.”
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Winter hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. Admission is $9 per person. Children under two are free and parking is $5. For more information visit www.akronzoo.org or call (330) 375-2550.
