The Akron Rib, White and Blue! Akron’s National Rib Festival runs July 2 – July 4, 2011. Admission is FREE into Lock 3 all 3 nights! For additional fee, enjoy Red Hot Rides & Amusing Amusements with fair style rides on Main Street and the inflatable jumpers inside Lock 3. No mechanical rides will be offered this year. The Magical-Train returns again this year to give rides along the towpath and through the park for a fee.

4th of July Parade stepping off at 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4, 2012 in front of Fairlawn Town Center. The Fairlawn Area Chamber of Commerce is the main sponsor behind bring the parade back to Fairlawn! The parade route heads west on West Market Street to Ghent Road and ends in the Dillard’s parking lot at Summit Mall where trophies will be handed out to floats, marching units, bands and novelty units.

Kent Ohio Fireworks and Kent Heritage Festival on July 7, 2017
The Kent Ohio Fireworks and Kent Heritage Festival will be on July 7, 2012 from 9am – 11pm in downtown Kent. Crafters and food vendors will line Main, North and South Water, and Erie Streets, and three stages will be set up throughout downtown to provide all-day entertainment. There will be activities for all ages. There will be more than 130 vendor and businesses on display. Enjoy the 1st annual Kent Heritage Festival Car Show on College Street. At 7pm will be the AMETEK Tree City 5k run starting at the Dix Stadium. Kent Fireworks will begin at 10pm in downtown Kent, Ohio.
