Join Barbie on a magical, musical adventure in the new Barbie and the Secret Door movie.
All kids are shy in different circumstances, some more than others. In this movie, Barbie is a shy princess that finds courage to stand up for what is right after she discovers a door to wonderful land where she makes new friends and finds.
I participated in an In-Home Party Activation on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Mattel. I received product samples to facilitate my party and a promotional item to thank me for participating.
We were given the opportunity to throw a Barbie and the Secret Door playdate for my daughter and her friends. We decided to invite new friends that she made this year from her class. It was a great way to have fun with new friends and for the girls to get to know each other better.
I noticed that a couple of the girls were a little shy at first, so I was happy to give each of the girls a big surprise right from the beginning. They each received a new Barbie from the new Barbie and the Secret Door movie!!
This immediately put the shyer girls at ease because Barbie is a familiar friend. The girls sat with their Barbie dolls while they watched the brand new Barbie movie! There are also easy reader books, stickers, and activity books.
The girls loved the movie. It kept their attention and they kept talking about their Barbie doll as the characters were in the movie. They were so excited when their character/doll was on the screen!
They loved the music too and started dancing with it!
This movie has everything that girls love – Barbie, a mermaid, a fairy, a princess, music, and a magical land. In the movie, Alexa is a shy princess who would rather read than do her royal duties. Alexa enters a magical land where she meets a mermaid and fairy that live in a kingdom governed by Malucia, a spoiled ruler. Alexa must decide if she is going to be strong and courageous as a princess or shy away. She must decide what is more important friendship or magic.
We had two girls that couldn’t make it to our Barbie playdate because they were sick, so we plan to have another movie screening/playdate for them next week. It might actually be nicer because there will be more one-on-one time. Of the girls at our playdate, my daughter only knew one girl before this year. This was a fun way for Elizabeth to get to know more girls from her class.
Having a movie playdate is an easy playdate to plan and Barbie is something all girls can agree on too! We are all super busy with the school year in full swing but planning a playdate right after school was a great option for us. I just served a simple dinner since our playdate went till after 6pm, but you could easily get away with a light snack. Other than that, it doesn’t take much planning for kids to have a blast during a playdate like this. Adding a great movie makes it even easier.
You can purchase Barbie and the Secret Door movie and merchandise in stores nationwide and online.
