I can remember going berry picking as a young child with my family and now that I have my own family I wanted to carry on that tradition. Even though it was blistering hot last weekend we loaded up the car and headed out to Rittman Orchards & Farm Market in Doylestown. We have been going there since hubby and I were dating and love to go for apple picking in the Fall, but we thought we should check out their berry picking too! We had a blast berry picking and although we were sweating like crazy from the heat, we still managed to have a nice little family outing.

Rittman Orchards is a family-owned fruit and vegetable farm and farm market in Doylestown,Ohio. The orchard has been around since the early 1920’s but completed a brand new market building in the fall of 2005 that includes a bakery and gift shop/market where they sell honey, candy and fresh fruits and veggies. Rittman Orchards also offers you-pick strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries in Summer and you-pick apples in Fall along with pumpkins. They also grow the finest peaches, gourmet sweet corn, tomatoes, peppers and much, much more that are available for purchase! Their prices are very reasonable and you pay per pound for what you pick. They even have a little pond area with a picnic bench which would be great spot to enjoy one of their delicious bakery goods or just take a little break from picking fruit.

We love spending time at Rittman Orchards and hope you will too! With all these yummy blueberries I need to start baking don’t ya think!? I think I am going to try out Chef Steph’s Scone recipe that Beth posted a few weeks ago and use my blueberries! Yum! I am so over this heat we have been having and I am eagerly awaiting Fall (my absolute favorite Season) so we can go apple picking at Rittman Orchards….maybe I will see you there!
