The Akron Zoo does a fantastic job transforming the zoo into Halloween central with 12 fantastic treat stations during Boo at the Akron Zoo. The treat stations each have their own theme and the employees passing out candy are also dressed up in a coordinating costume. They really get into the Halloween spirit and everyone has a fantastic time! Your kids will love the treats too, often they are full size candies as well as other treats like bagged pretzels and snack cakes.10295944_10152425072575866_925981543355988430_o

I like that Boo at the Akron Zoo is a safe way for kids to go trick-or-treating in their costumes. There are no concerns about crossing busy streets, falling over unkept lawns, or worrying about the candy received – yes, we all still check our kid’s candy bags since the 1960’s! Not so at the Akron Zoo. It is a safe, family-friendly way to trick or treat for all of Summit County and beyond.

My kids love the decorations, lighted displays and non-scary decor during Boo at the Akron Zoo. They really make it fun for the whole family. While trick-or-treating, don’t forget to visit all of your animal friends that will be celebrating Halloween too.

One thing that we love about the Akron Zoo is that you don’t have to devote an entire day and feel exhausted after visiting the Akron Zoo. There is so much to see and do, but it is all close enough so even the young children don’t get too tired and end up cranky. It’s a fun zoo to explore anytime of year, but especially during Boo at the Akron Zoo.

Check out the Pizza Buffet at the Komodo Kingdom. It’s a great value at only $5.99 for kids and $8.99 for adults – their pizza is tasty!
