Now that our kids have been home for about a week, we are starting to get restless, how about you and your kids? There is so much to see and do in the Akron area – get out and explore! One place that my family loves to goto in the Winter is The Akron Zoo. It is a new experience every time. Many of the animals are more active and alert during the colder weather. It’s a lot of fun to get bundled up, get a little exercise, and visit all of our animal friends like the bears at the new Grizzly Ridge!
Now through December 31st, you can pick your price for admission to The Akron Zoo! Pay just $4, $5 or $6, depending on what price you pick. Before entering the zoo, one person from your family or group can pick a snowflake out of Santa’s hat. Whatever price is on the snowflake is the price per person that group will pay. It may be $4, $5, or $6.
Cabin Fever Reliever at The Akron Zoo
Once January rolls around and the temperatures drop even lower, we will all start to get cabin fever! There are only so many days we can stay stuck inside before we just have to get outside – cold weather or not. The Akron Zoo is hosting Cabin Fever Reliever events every Saturday in January starting Saturday, January 3 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
Enjoy a fun scavenger hunt upon entering the zoo to earn a free hot chocolate at the completion of the scavenger hunt. You and your kids can also enjoy a free craft station inside Komodo Kingdom Education Center and a coloring corner in the zoo’s gift shop. Plus, don’t forget to visit all your favorite animals at the zoo like this beautiful red wolf.
Dates for Cabin Fever Reliever at The Akron Zoo are Saturday, January 3, 10, 17, 24 and 31, 2015.
The Akron Zoo is open 361 days a year. Winter hours are 11 a.m. – 4 p.m. and admission is $7 per person. Children under two are free. The parking fee is $3.
