Cirque Ziva is coming to the Akron Civic Theatre on Sunday, April, 21, 2013. This is an exciting show for the entire family to enjoy as you witness the unbelievable skill and talent of The Golden Dragon Acrobats. The Golden Dragons are the premier Chinese acrobat touring company in the United States and abroad. They have a solid reputation in artistic details that combines award-winning acrobatics with traditional dance, amazing costumes, ancient and contemporary music and theatrical techniques that promises a show you wont forget!
The Cirque Ziva with Golden Dragon Acrobats Show at the Akron Civic Theatre is an exciting show for the whole family. You’ll witness a talented group of athletes, actors, and articles that have trained since early childhood to perfect their amazing feats. The amount of time it takes to master the feats that they pull off effortlessly must be immense!
I found a few images form the Golden Dragons Acrobats website that represented acts we saw last year. Below are a few of my favorites that display unbelievable athleticism and coordination. You’ll notice how the acts use simple props like plates, jugs, bicycles, umbrellas, or even just their bodies to do amazing stunts. It is fascinating! There were times that I wanted to close my eyes – like when the acrobat climbs the tower of ladders stacked up to the ceiling! We all walked away in awe! Click on any images to see it at full-size.
We had the pleasure of attending a performance of the Golden Dragons last year as well. There is so much variety in the show that there is no time for even kids to get antsy or bored.
My kids were 5 and 7 last year and had a fun time – always asking my husband and I how they did that!? To which we replied – practice – lots of practice!
It was a fun family outing – and for once, we all had an equally enjoyable time! I love going to shows meant for kids too but this is a show that we could all enjoy – adults and kids. I saw a variety of people at the show including couples both young and old, families, and groups of friends.
