It is back-to-school shopping time for school supplies. I love shopping for back-to-school supplies because it gives my kids a fresh start to the new year and because I can score great deals! I always stock up on extra school supplies at the beginning of the year for replacement items later in the year, for fresh supplies at home, and for gifts!
My first stop are the Crayola items. I received a promotional item to shop for Crayola back-to-school supplies and to share with you my findings in this post. I always buy Crayola brand over other brands because of the high quality. I picked up 10 boxes of Crayola crayons (2 for school now, 2 for school in January, 2 for home use, and 4 to package with crafty gifts this year). You can’t beat the $.50 cent price tag!
My daughter reached for another brand of crayons during our shopping trip and I told that we always buy Crayola. 🙂 I just think they write better. My kids’ schools requested Crayola brand too – so there must be something to my beliefs. Plus, you can’t go wrong with things Made in the USA!
If you have younger kids, reach for the jumbo crayons, they are perfect for little toddler hands. Crayola has so many fun, creative items for your kids. Be sure to check out all the items in the school supply rows. Although your kids may not be able to take the box of 120 crayons to school, it is well worth the $7 to have them at home! You can’t put a price tag on creativity, coloring is a fantastic way for kids to express themselves and learn.
Check out the washable, dry erase crayons too. They are perfect for all your at-home projects! What did we ever do before Crayola Washable products?!
For older kids, try the Crayola Twistables mini crayons. They are a more “grown up” version of crayons that kids and tweens can use to create art. My son is 8 and loves them! They color smooth, just like crayons but instead of sharpening them, you just twist up for more color. I actually really like Twistables because they are a crayon that never breaks!
Like I said, my kids’ schools actually requested the Crayola brand for crayons, markers, and colored pencils. Crayola markers are the World’s Most Washable, so I guess the teachers are doing us a huge favor by requesting them. I have never had a Crayola marker mark not come out of a piece of clothing – even white clothing. Plus, they wash off walls easily too – something I learned when my kids were toddlers! 🙂

Crayola classic markers and colored pencils are preferred by teachers too. The markers last and last with vivid colors. Check out the new SuperTips Washable Markers Kit too, it is a collection of Crayola Super Tips Markers with paper in a portable carryall case. It is perfect for your traveling artist!
The pencils sharpen very well and provide fantastic color for school work and play. Did you know that Crayola colored pencils are made with reforested wood too? If your child prefers the Twistables version, newly released is the Twistables Colored Pencils Kit, it includes Crayola Twistables Colored Pencils and paper with a durable, portable carryall case. This would be perfect for keeping in the car for car trips!
Below is my son’s back-to-school supplies. Seems like a lot, doesn’t it?! Thankfully, I saved a lot of money with Crayola sales this year. I can’t stress enough how important it is to stock up for the rest of the school year. It seems like a lot of school supplies today but they will run out of items by January for sure!Another neat thing that I found while back-to-school shopping was the new Wild Notes Black Notebook. It is a fun way for kids to write on black paper. You use the special pen that is included to write. When you write on the black paper, you’ll get a variety of colors showing up underneath. This would be perfect for reluctant writers – it puts the fun into school work!
If you have kids going back-to-school or not, be sure to pick up some Crayola items while they are on sale. Kids that color and are creative become the critical thinkers and problem solvers. Creativity is important for our kids and their futures. Plus, it is a fun way for you to sit down with your kids and spend some quality time together.
