Cuyahoga River Fishing Lessons

I have never baited my own fishing line with real bait and never taken a fish off a hook. That is always my husband’s job! So, for me to teach my kids to fish would be a joke. 🙂 My husband is a great teacher but with 2 kids needing assistance, I was thankful for the help from our tour guides Steve and his son, KC. They were fantastic with my kids. You can’t get better Cuyahoga River fishing lessons than with the professionals.

Check out this video to see how patient Steve was with teaching my 5 year old daughter how to cast her line. She was very intent on learning. Just look at that proud smile at the end of the video. There is nothing better than seeing that look of accomplishment on your child’s face!

I can’t say enough about Steve and KC with Gone Fishin’. They were so accommodating, friendly, and helpful throughout the entire charter fishing trip on the Cuyahoga River.

My 5 year old daughter caught the first fish of the trip! It was a crappie. Soon after, my son caught his first fish – it was the first fish he has ever caught! He was sooo excited!

Steve even give him the fisherman’s tip to hold the fish up and out toward the camera to make it look bigger. 🙂 My kids each caught two fish and were super proud of their efforts.

They even let my kids steer the boat.  My kids were so excited to be in control of a moving vehicle, the other people on the boat thought it was cute too. Even when my son pulled on the accelerator and nearly knocked his little sister over!
