Soy Candles Make You Melt
This soy candle kit lets you make 6 votive candles, so you can get creative. Here’s what my box contained.
• 6 votive glasses
• 2 Scents
• 3 blending colors
• 1lb soy wax (already shaved down)
• 6 soy wicks
• Easy to follow instructions
I set up everything and got to work. This was such an easy project ! My 7 year old was more then happy to sit on the other side of the counter and stir the wax color and fragrance in for me. By the way these candles smell wonderful, my scents were, lavender and coconut vanilla!
Simply Crafting
For being my 1st time making candles I was surprised at how easy it really was. I tried to be smart and dip the metal base of the wick into some wax and let it harden but as soon as I poured the next layer in it remelted. If you don’t know much about soy, it has a lower melting point so it doesn’t have to get very hot to melt. In hind sight I wonder if a glue dot on the bottom wold have held it in place better? Maybe. It wasn’t to challenging to get the base layer in and then just make the wick stand straight, I did end up using butter knifes to hold the wicks in place as the bottom layer cooled.
