HOME is the new DreamWorks movie in theaters today, Friday, March 27th everywhere. HOME is based on the book True Meaning of Smekday, a story of a misfit alien that finds himself on the run from his own people and teams up with the unlikeliest of friends.
In the movie HOME, the Boov (aliens) are coming to Earth in fear of the Gorg – their enemy. They relocate the humans, except for spunky little Tip (voiced by Rihanna) who escapes with her cat.
Meanwhile, Oh (voiced by Jim Parsons of The Big Bang Theory), the Boov alien that seems not to get anything right accidentally sends their archenemy Gorg an evite to him house warming party! This leaves him fleeing from the Boov as well when he accidentally runs into Tip.
Together, an unlikely friendship occurs. HOME is a hilarious movie filled with plenty of silly jokes, misunderstandings, adventure, and just-plain silliness that any kid will love. My daughter and I are constantly telling each other one-liners from the movie!
Although we found ourselves laughing throughout the movie, there was one point that I found myself so emotionally involved that I about cried! Seriously. Thankfully what I had feared didn’t come true and a really remarkable twist to the movie happened! I won’t give away any spoilers here but you’ll like the ending!
HOME is a fun movie to watch with your kids but to top it off, it also has a really positive message about friendship, family, and loyalty that this mom loves.
