West Branch State Park is located in Portage County, on the west branch of the Mahoning River.
Swimming at West Branch State Park
The 700 foot sandy beach is both wide and deep, providing plenty of room for sunbathers as well as those interested in building sand castles! Swimming in the lake is fun for everyone, don’t forget your floats! There is no charge for swimming at this beach.
Boating at West Branch State Park
Boating is a popular attraction at West Branch State Park! It is a huge lake, perfect for a day on the lake with family and friends. There are 6 launch ramps, with Dock 9 wheelchair accessible. The no-wake zone extends 300 feet from all shorelines. West Branch State Park even has boat rentals, gasoline, and supplies available at the marina. 
West Branch State Park Grounds
The park encompasses 5,352 acres of land that offers endless opportunities for outdoor fun. There are many trails for hiking, biking, and even horse-back riding. There is a small playground area with swings near the beach.
There are also large open grassy areas throughout the park, and near the beach for picnicking, playing, and hanging out. There are 5 picnic areas around the lake with 6 picnic shelters – 4 can be reserved for parties and gatherings by calling (866) 644-6727. 
There is a beach house with indoor plumbing and changing booths. Outside showers to get the sand off are located right outside the beach house. 
The large spacious parking lot is located near the beach.
Camping at West Branch State Park
There are 29 full services sites, 155 sites with 50-amp electric hook-up, 14 non-electric sites, and 9 non-electric equestrian camp sites available for camping at the West Branch State Park. There are also heated showers, flush toilets, laundry facilities, and a trailer dump station available.
