Are you are looking for a free place for your kids to swim and cool off in the Akron area? If you have kids ages 9 and under, Cuyahoga Falls has 6 wading pools perfect for an afternoon of swimming fun. There are 6 locations scattered throughout the city.

Indian Mountain Park
1552 E. Bailey Road

Linden Park
241 Roanoke Avenue

Lions Park
641 Silver Lake Avenue

Oak Park
2250 12th Street

Quirk Cultural Center
1201 Grant Avenue

Valley Vista Park
2790 Valley Road

All of the parks have playgrounds for the kids to play too so you can really make the afternoon of going to any of the Cuyahoga Falls Wading Parks.  All but one location has restroom facilities too.

The Wading Pools are only 1-2 feet deep, so it’s enough to cool down and have fun for kids from babies through age 9. Each wading park is staffed. Pools are open 10am – 6pm. You are welcome to bring floaties, noodles, diving sticks, squirt guns, and other summer fun toys.

At the end of the season, they empty the pools and fill with fresh clean water for their Goldfish Catch. Kids can catch goldfish in the pools and take them home. Here is a picture below. This event is well attended but there is always enough fish for each kid.

Hi Judith, We love Vista Park too! It’s perfect for babies through age 9! We go there often because it seems to be the best attended and my kids LOVE playing with other kids!

My grandkids have spent part of monday and 5 hours yesterday at Vista Park and had a ball!!!! The lifeguards there are so nice and friendly even! If anyone has an appointment nearby, just let the other parent, grandparent stay with the kids while they go! They really had a ball on these hot days! Its a drive for us from Ravenna, but worth it by far!
