Deck the Hall at Stan Hywet
Deck the Hall at Stan Hywet is the one Christmas tradition that my kids talk about weeks before we go and weeks after. We all look forward to our evening of seeing Santa, lighting the courtyard Christmas tree, walking through the gorgeous Manor House, and touring the estate with Christmas lights and decorations everywhere you look. It is a Winter Wonderland and we absolutely love it!
New this year is Gingerbread Land.
I told you about the fabulous new Playgarden earlier this Summer, during Winter, it is transformed with 75,000 lights and gingerbread decor!
It is a child’s dream come tree with glittering candy trees, a 17′ gingerbread house, Christmas Santa truck and more. It was so fun to walk through and explore!
It is such a magical place. I don’t know of any other Christmas light display that has an area just for children!
Afterward, we warmed up inside the Corbin Conservatory where we admired the 20 ft poinsettia tree and all the floral displays. We brought home a few lovely plants including a Christmas Cactus that won’t stop blooming!
We always stop by the entrance to purchase Hot Cocoa and their famous gingerbread cookies. Don’t leave Deck the Hall without their gingerbread cookies, they are amazing. My kids look forward to them every year. We sit and enjoy our treats by the warming fire. This year, it is enclosed so it’ll keep you even warmer.
We save the best for last as we walk to the Manor House. It is even more stunning at Christmas!
Once inside, take a self-guided tour at your own pace. This year’s theme is Christmas Around the World.
There are 20 rooms decorated with decor of various countries. One of our favorites was the Russian room.
There is so much to see and explore in the Manor House. If you are wondering if your young kids will enjoy Deck the Hall, all I can say is that my kids have been going to Deck the Hall since they were in preschool and love it every single year. They are now in 2nd and 4th grade and can’t wait to go back every time we visit, especially for Deck the Hall.
You’ll also be serenaded by live music in the large Music Room by area choirs and musicians throughout the season.
After the Manor House tour, we always walk around the back of the house, through all the gardens back to the great garden. The great garden is home to the light-show extravaganza, DAZZLE. DAZZLE is the combination of 350,000 lights that are animated with Christmas songs. It fascinating to watch and walk though. It is the perfect way to say good-bye to another Deck the Hall at Stan Hywet.
