I was surprised to hear the news that Borders in Montrose/Fairlawn will be closing up shop sometime this summer. But a bit delighted to hear that a 55,000 sq ft Hobby Lobby will be taking over the space. This is a great craft store that has more than 60,000 items that range from scrapbooking, unique decor items, crafting items, and more. The store is packed aisle after aisle of merchandise. And if you like something, buy it today because there is no guarantee that it will be ordered again. There is always a huge selection of products.
I’m not sure if our local economy can sustain a Hobby Lobby AND our local Jo Ann Fabrics, Pat Catans, and Michaels stores. We shall see…

I’m a little sad to hear that Borders is leaving, however Hobby Lobby is a pretty neat store to get lost in.
