It breaks my heart to know that there are kids right here in Akron, Ohio that may not have any gifts at Christmas. Families are struggling, especially at Christmastime. The Salvation Army has a program designed to help those children to receive new clothes and toys through generous donations from people like you.
The Salvation Army’s Angel Tree Program allows you to be an “angel” to a little boy or girl this Christmas.
Simply pick up a paper Angel tag at local businesses, churches, and organizations and shop for one of thousands of children that may not otherwise have anything for Christmas. Each Angel tag will include the child’s first name, age, and gender. Shop for that child and return your gift to the Salvation Army with the tag attached.
Angel tags are available for pick up at the Salvation Army’s downtown Akron location, 190 S. Maple Street, 44302, from 8am to 4pm, or at these convenient locations during business hours:
- Downtown Akron—First Energy Lobby, 76 S. Main Street (McKinley Management)
- Downtown Akron—Spaghetti Warehouse, 510 S. Main Street
- West Akron—Emerge Counseling Services, 900 Mull Avenue
- Stow—Eddie’s Bike Shop, 3707 Darrow Road
- Norton—Creekside Animal Clinic, 3744 Wadsworth Road
- Uniontown—District Boutique, 3875 Massillon Road, Suite 30
The Salvation Army also has an Adopt-a-Family program that helps entire families during the Christmas season with food, clothing, and gifts at Christmas.
