I was searching everywhere on how to make kids Valentine’s Day boxes. It has been a long time since I was in grade school and I needed some ideas! I really like to make things super fun and themed. I found some really cute animal theme Valentine’s Day boxes including a cute Alien Monster from FamilyFun website.

You can even buy a Valentine’s Day Box Kit from Oriental Trading Company.

My Kids’ Valentine’s Day Boxes
Elijah had to make a Valentine’s Day box for kindergarten. The only instructions were to use a cereal box and leave the top open for the cards. I showed him pictures online to see what he wanted to do. He just wanted to decorate it himself. I gathered construction paper, glitter, glue, aluminum foil, sparkly cut-outs, stickers, and let his creativity fly. Of course Elizabeth wanted to join in on the fun too.
Neither wanted to cover the box with construction paper, the aluminum foil was shiny and inviting! We cut the foil to fit the entire box.

Next, my kids used Elmer’s Glue on every surface and spread it with a paint brush.

Elijah made designs with glue for his box while I helped Elizabeth.

They used plenty of glitter! Yes, glitter got all over them, the table, the floor and throughout the house but they had fun!

Elijah went with a monster theme with cute monster stickers that you create by adding silly faces, arms, etc.

My kids were so proud of their Valentine’s Day Boxes.
In the end, they both had cute Valentine’s Day boxes that represented what they like and their age. I held back from making it super pretty, perfect, and MINE. Sometimes this is hard for me, I like things to be perfect, especially for my kids. I know this was the right decision to just let them be creative and have fun with their project!
