Hudson Springs Park in Hudson, Ohio is one of my family’s favorite parks in Summit County. It is a huge 260 acre park with a 50 acre lake, 2 miles of fantastic trails, and a wonderful playground for kids of all ages. We usually spend a couple hours playing on the playground and hiking the trails.
Hudson Springs Park Playground
The Hudson Springs Park Playground is on a large grassy area with play equipment spread out. There are a few benches for parents to sit on, but this is a fun park to play with your kids.

Go ahead and jump on the merry-go-round with your kids! Or at the very least give them a big spin on this classic playground feature that is loved by all! Not many playgrounds have this fixture, which is a shame because it is always going at Hudson Springs Park. My kids spend more time on the merry-go-round than anything else at the playground!
There are several slides at Hudson Springs Park including this large metal slide that towers above the other playsets. It is the old fashion slides that we had when we were kids with steep steps and a smooth fast slide.
There are plenty of swings, climbing structures, and even a sand pit too.

This curvy sideways climbing structure is popular with my kids – and difficult to do!The Hudson Preschool Parents donated the natural arborvitae maze years ago. It is in great shape and the perfect height for kids to walk through – and for parents to be monsters chasing them. My kids normally ask me to be the monster popping out around the corners of the maze. I’m sorry if I accidentally scared your child too! 🙂 They all love it!
Hudson Springs Park Lake and Trails
The 50-acre lake at Hudson Springs Park is great for boating and fishing. You can fish for $10 a day for bass, bluegill, and more. There is a long trail the circles the lake, I believe it is 1.3 miles with a total of 2 miles of trails within the park.Walk through the meadow and woods to spy on wildlife like ducks, geese, fox, deer, heron, owls, and hawks. We have walked the entire trail around the lake as well as just short back and forth trails. It is a beautiful walk through the woods next to the lake, crossing over streams. Sometimes little ones will need to hitch a ride with their parents though.
The hike is so pretty with so much to see and discover whether you stay on the path or not. My kids tend to get off the path to explore the woods, which is completely fine too.Hudson Spring Park also has 3 picnic pavilions to use if not occupied or rent as well as picnic tables all around. Also at the park is a large disc golf course, volleyball, and a large open meadow to play and enjoy. There is a working water fountain and indoor bathroom facilities (not sure if this is year-round).
