End of Summer Wildwater Kingdom Review
This year, my family purchased a Wildwater Kingdom Sesason Pass for the summer. It was the best idea ever, we will get it again next year for sure! Last weekend, the weather didn’t look good to go to the waterpark with temps only in the mid-70’s. However, we invited my brother’s family to spend the day with us as an end of summer treat, so we couldn’t cancel. I’m so glad we didn’t because remember, I said, “It is still Summer at Wildwater Kingdom”! The skies cleared up, the sun shined a little brighter, the water was a little warmer, and the kids had the best time all Summer. Everything is sweeter when you know Summer is about over!
Tidal Wave Bay and Riptide Run at Wildwater Kingdom
[slickr-flickr tag=wildwaterkingdompools]We spent a lot of time in the Tidal Wave Bay’s 390,000 gallon wave pool. We played in the waves, swam and splashed all around in the warm water. Not many pictures were had with so much splashing but it was a blast.
We also hung out in the Riptide Run lazy river quite a bit. With 4 kids, it’s not quite lazy but it is a lot of fun! It is 1,100 feet of water that winds around Coral Cove activity pool. Of course my son and nephews thought the best part was steering my tube and my brother’s tube right into the water falls, dumping buckets, and spraying water! Once I loosened up and realized that I was there to have fun and get wet, it was a blast! Luckily, the kids thought it was most fun to dump my brother off of his tube into the water. Since he is a big kid at heart, he loved it!
Yea, I sometimes want to be the party pooper and just rest on the tubes going down the river. boo! Seriously though, let yourself have fun with your kids. They won’t be kids OR want to play with you forever, take advantage of it while they are young. Splash, get wet, and be silly. That is what your kids will remember, which is way better than mom telling them not to splash them all the time. 🙂
Splash Landing Family Activity Center at Wildwater Kingdom
The center of attraction for our families at Wildwater Kingdom was Splash Landing Family Activity Center. It is packed with lots of activities that kids as tiny as toddlers to adults can enjoy. There are 2 sections with zero depth entry and activities for the babies and younger kids located at Splash Landing. Smack in the middle are slides, buckets, wheels, levers, squirting devices, and lots of happy people.
[slickr-flickr tag=splashlanding]All summer long, my kids went down several of the slides here but not the “big” orange tube slide. With the confidence of being with their older cousins, they conquered every single slide in one single visit! Maybe we will try Thunder Falls Water Slide Complex next Summer!
Also, my son, who is 6 has had fun getting dumped on by the enormous Wildwater Kingdom bucket all summer long but my 4 year old daughter ran away from it. Guess what! With her cousins, she got brave and LOVES the dumping bucket now! She was so excited that she was a big kid now. They went under the bucket again and again.
