Let Go, Let GOD Movie Review

My son and I recently watched a movie unlike any we’ve ever seen called “Let GOD.”  It is set in the 19th century as we follow the journey of a woman as she and her husband set to go West for the gold rush. Plans don’t go well as they are attacked by savages and her husband is killed. She is left alone, just a housewife with no one to help her.

I received product to facilitate this post.

Let GOD is a faith-based movie that takes you on the journey with Amelia as she must learn to survive on her own in the harsh wilderness, battling the cold winter and hunger while questioning her faith in God. We were surprised that there isn’t much dialog in the movie, how could there be when she is alone in the wilderness? However, this did not impact the message of the film. It captured and kept my attention and my 9 year old son’s attention.

Besides learning to find shelter and food in the harsh Winter, Amelia feels abandoned by her husband but mostly by God. She is completely and utterly alone for the first time in her life. She struggles to let go of what she had before they set out for the gold rush.

She is befriended by an unlikely person, a child, while in the wilderness. The ending is shocking and so inspiring. Amelia finds her faith and realizes that God was with her the entire time – just as He is with us, especially in the hardest times in our lives. She learns to Let Go, and Let God be in control.

I highly recommend adding Let GOD to your movie collection. You can purchase the DVD online for $12.99.

I thought this poster was so fitting for this movie and a good reminder in life too.
