Mother’s Day is this Sunday, May 11, and if you’re still deciding how to spoil Mom, skip the crowded brunch lines and head for Akron’s crown jewel: Stan Hywet Hall & Gardens. Every mom receives free admission to the entire estate—including the 65-room Manor House, Gate Lodge, historic gardens, and the whimsical Playgarden—so gather the kids and treat her to a day wrapped in blooms, history, and plenty of photo-ops.

Timed-entry tickets (10 a.m.–noon, noon–2 p.m., or 2–4 p.m.) open April 21 at stanhywet.org; reserve early, check in during your two-hour window, and then linger anywhere on the grounds until the estate closes at 6 p.m. Standard rates apply for the rest of the crew—$19 for adults, $9 for youth ages 3–17, and children 2 and under are always free.
