Dispose of Meds on National Prescription Drug Take-back Day

I’m helping out an elderly lady by cleaning out her old house after she moved to a nursing home. There are tons of old meds from her and her deceased daughter. 🙁 I knew that I heard of places to dispose but couldn’t remember where/when. Thankfully I received an email that October 23 is DEA National Prescription Drug Take-back Day!
The City of Cuyahoga Falls and Klein’s Pharmacy have partner to celebrate DEA National Prescription Drug Takeback Day from 10 to 2 p.m. at the entrance of Klein’s Pharmacy located at 2015 State Rd. in Cuyahoga Falls.   Take your old prescription medication there and a Cuyahoga Falls police officers on hand to safely and responsibly dispose of unused or expired medications.
Safely disposing of unused medication is critical to protecting our residents and our environment,” stated Mayor Don Walters. “The City of Cuyahoga Falls is proud to partner with Klein’s Pharmacy on this important event.
This is very important to do as opioid and prescription drug abuse is sadly on the rise, by disposing of medications properly,  no one can become a victim this nasty addiction. 9.7 million people misused prescription pain relievers, 4.9 million people misused
prescription stimulants, and 5.9 million people misused prescription tranquilizers or sedatives in 2019 alone. Disposing of prescription medications is imperative to keep our community safe. (Needles and liquids will not be accepted.)
Can’t make it on October 23rd? You can also drop off unused and expired medication 24/7 at the drug disposal drop box in the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department lobby located at 2310 Second Street.

Say BOO to the Flu!

While you are there, consider getting your flu shot!  Each person who receives a flu shot will be entered to win a $100 Visa gift card or $50 to a favorite local restaurant. One entry per person who receives a flu shot. Plus, bring your kids and pets dressed in costumes for extra fun; they’ll have candy on hand for a wholesome treat.
