All kids ages 1-18 and individuals ages 19-21 who have a mental or physical disability with an IEP through their current enrollment in educational programs are eligible for FREE summer meals this summer of 2021. There are participating program sites across the state of of Ohio giving kids free meals through the Ohio Food Service Program.
This is for every child, regardless of family income levels. No registration is required. The state of Ohio is doing a fantastic job as well as their partners across the state to ensure kids don’t go hungry this summer. As a volunteer at an at-risk school in Akron, I know for a fact that the only food some kids get through the school year is breakfast and lunch at school. It’s devastating and heart breaking. Locally, in Akron, Ohio, there are over 40 locations serving meals – some are bags you pick up for breakfast and lunch, others you can eat in the building.
Find your nearest location for hours and services offered by going to the Ohio Food Service Program website. Click on the location nearest to you for dates, times, location, and food availability. For more information call 1-866-3-HUNGRY (486479).
