Looking for a fun, inspiring, and family-friendly outing just a short drive from Akron? Mark your calendars for the 43rd Annual Art on the Green, hosted by the Hudson Society of Artists. This beloved tradition takes place Saturday, August 23rd and Sunday, August 24th, from 10 AM – 5 PM at 5555 Darrow Rd. (the former JOANN HQ site), located at the corner of Terex Rd. and Rt. 91 in Hudson, Ohio. Rain or shine, the show goes on!
A Showcase of Fine Arts & Crafts
Art on the Green is Summit County’s largest and longest-running juried fine arts and crafts show. This year, you’ll find over 145 talented exhibitors bringing their creativity to life in categories such as: painting, sculpture, woodworking, metalwork, jewelry, fiber arts, photography, digital art, ceramics, pottery, glass works, clothing, home décor, and more.
Expect to see some of your favorite returning artists alongside new exhibitors debuting their work for the very first time in Hudson. Whether you’re looking to invest in a one-of-a-kind piece, pick up a handmade gift, or simply admire the artistry, there’s something here for everyone.
Our Family Tradition
Our family goes to Art on the Green every year either as a family or with friends too. We always enjoy browsing for unique pieces to bring into our home, and now that my kids are in college, they’re looking forward to finding artwork to brighten their dorm rooms. One of the best things about this event is that there truly is something for everyone—whether you’re serious about collecting, shopping for handmade gifts, or just enjoying a nice day out together.
Food Trucks & Treats
Of course, no summer festival is complete without delicious eats! While you browse, enjoy tasty bites and sweet treats from some of the region’s best food vendors: Judy & Adam’s (cheesesteaks and funnel cakes), JGK Concessions (gyros and specialty sandwiches), PopCultureCLE (gourmet ice cream creations), Savannah’s Kettle Corn, and Hometown Beverages (gourmet coffee, handcrafted lattes, hot and cold drinks).
Easy, Affordable Family Fun
Admission and parking are free. Bring the whole family for a day filled with art, food, and community spirit without worrying about extra costs.

Make a Day of It in Hudson
One of the things I love most about Art on the Green is that it’s the perfect excuse to spend the whole day in Hudson. After shopping the art show, wander through the Shops on Main or stop by one of our favorites, The Spice & Tea Exchange of Hudson for specialty teas and seasonings.
If you have younger kids with you, they’ll love burning off energy at one of Hudson’s great playgrounds:
Cascade Park Playground – a fun spot with climbing areas, a short wooded hike, and even a small waterfall.

Hudson Springs Park – a beautiful park with a large lake trail and a fantastic playground.

See you there!
