You are invited to participate in the Wigs for Kids Day at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo on July 20, 2019. This is a day dedicated to serving children who experience hair loss. Sign up for the 5K or 1 mile fun walk or participate in the cut-a-thon (I know many that would like to donate their hair but don’t know how – this is it!)! Either way, you’ll be supporting this non-profit hair donation organization to give kids the chance to have a hand-made custom fit wig for added confidence.
Wigs for Kids if the first and oldest hair donation organization in the country, they have made thousands of wigs for kids over the years. Their wigs are designed to keep up with active kids while they are running or playing sports. Wigs for Kids lets children like Miller Gotto (in header image) feel confident and ‘girlie’ like other kids with their custom wig.
You can help by raising funds for Wigs for Kids and participating in the run or fun walk by registering today. Registration is just $35 for adults or $25 for kids 10 and under. All race participants will receive an event t-shirt, have access to family-friendly activities at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo and Rainforest—and will support kids like four-year-old Miller.
You can also help by donating your hair at the event! There will be a cut-a-thon where you can donate your hair. When you donate, you get free admission to the zoo! Kids love helping others, this is a great time for mom, kids, and even long-haired dads to donate their hair together!
If you can’t make the event, there are other ways you can support Wigs for Kids! Host a fundraiser, sponsor the event as an individual or business, support a Salon Challenge salon (locally The Hair Specialist in Hudson, Ohio).
