We were able to review the Miracle-Gro Kids Root Viewer. As soon as my kids saw it, they couldn’t wait to set it up. We were able to grow herbs last year with another Miracle-Gro Kids gardening set, and they loved it. The kit comes with everything you need, instructions, Miracle-Gro soil, seeds, and planter. It even comes with an educational guide for kids to learn all about root systems and the part of a root, making this a great educational toy.
First, kids empty the soil packets into a bowl. I like that this is the Miracle-Gro brand because it is basically guaranteed to be successful unless you don’t give it light and water! Even if you don’t have a green thumb, you can grow anything with Miracle-Gro!
Next, add 3 cups of water to the mixture. Again, let your kids do it and have fun. Just like cooking, it might get messy but kids can’t learn if you don’t let them.
Stir, stir, stir! Kids and mud, is there anything better?
I put the soil mixture into the container, an older kid could do this too. Next, we added our seeds. The kit came with carrot, radish, and onion seeds. We’ve never planted any of these vegetables, so it is exciting to see how they will turn out.

You can slip down the Sun Shade too, to avoid too much sun exposure.
My kids had fun putting the kit together and are keeping a close eye on the developments. It won’t be long before we see new signs of life. This is a great educational toy for kids ages 5 and up.
