Renaissance Columbus Ohio Downtown Hotel Review

For our girls weekend in Columbus, Ohio, we stayed at the Renaissance Columbus Downtown Hotel. This centrally located upscale hotel is convenient for the tourist or business person traveling to Columbus, Ohio. It is located in the heart of Columbus near  Nationwide Arena, COSI, Convention Center, museums, theaters, and other attractions. It is also a very popular place for weddings and receptions. There were two beautiful wedding receptions there during our weekend stay.

Our room was spacious with 2 queen size beds with comfortable bedding and a sitting area with a couch and two chairs.

The room offered a nice view of the city with 2 sets of windows. There was also a TV that could rotate between the sitting area and the beds. Internet service is available for an additional $12.95, thus no blogging while we were on our girls weekend away. 😉

The bathroom was pretty, although a bit small compared to the room.

The hotel offered a breathtaking rooftop pool, spa, and lounging area. It was very pleasant to cool off with a swim while taking in the views of the city.

We settled down for the night around midnight. Around 12:45 am, I heard a knock at the door. I woke up Beth to alert her that I was going to the door. Room service was there with nuts, chocolate, and water for us.

I was quite confused as I was awoken from a sleep for a midnight snack. I’m not sure where the tasty snack came from or why it arrived at 12:45 am but it was quite amusing. I carried the snack into the room with hysterical laughs and giggles. By then, Beth and Joanna were awake but not sure why. Joanna thought it was morning and started munching on the breakfast of nuts. Beth was asking if they were serving us hot cocoa before bed. Not sure what that was about. I just couldn’t stop laughing at how absurd the whole situation was. It made for a fun memory and story anyway.

Joanna and I slept int until 9:30am, while Beth went exploring the city. Extra sleep for moms is hardly ever a reality. It made for the perfect girls weekend. 🙂 Thanks for letting us sleep in, Beth. Even though you called us Bums! 🙂
