Are you ready for a fun-filled family adventure this summer? This year, Firestone Country Club is hosting the Kaulig Companies Championship, celebrating its 70th anniversary of professional golf with a four-day extravaganza from July 13-16. They have a full line-up of fun experiences and activities for all ages, the Championship promises family fun for everyone.
The Championship, renowned for its impressive golf lineup, is broadening its horizon with attractions beyond the green. Kaulig Companies are bringing fresh excitement to Firestone this year with a new fan experience for the whole family, making the Championship a must-see family attraction this summer in Akron.
Your kids will have fun at the Championship with their amazing KidZone, in partnership with the Pro Football Hall of Fame. The KidZone is near the 18th green, and has activities like a skills challenge, putt-putt games, face painting, a chance to meet vivacious mascots and much more. This gives your little kids something fun to do while you take in all the golf action!
The family fun continues at the Kaulig Infinity Zone! This is a huge 15,000-square-foot interactive space offering exciting family fun attractions like a NASCAR car hauler, BigShots Golf, and GolfGreens by ForeverLawn.
Animal lovers can find delight in The Ruff, an area set up in collaboration with Akron’s One of a Kind Pet Rescue (where we rescued our dog!), featuring adoptable pets for interaction and petting.
On July 14, the Coffee with Legends event will host Hale Irwin, Andy North, and Hal Sutton. Fans are encouraged to attend and possibly meet a few Pro Football Hall of Famers.
If you love music, you’ll love the rock band-themed pinball machines, courtesy of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (the host of the Championship’s exciting concert series). The concert line-up starts on Thursday, July 13 with Akron’s own Big Pop band, followed by WANTED: The Bon Jovi Tribute Band on July 14 and The Vindys on July 15.
Adding to the enriching experience, this year’s event hopes to raise over $2 million for charity, more than double the amount raised at last year’s event. Firestone’s professional golf events have collectively raised more than $31 million. Supporting the event helps the tournament make substantial charitable donations to the local Akron, Ohio community.
The heart of the event, of course, remains the world-class golf. Defending champion Jerry Kelly will compete against the likes of Ernie Els, Bernhard Langer, Jim Furyk, and Steve Stricker. Firestone’s reputation remains strong due to its history and the challenging course that has hosted 93 professional golf events, including three PGA Championships.
This isn’t just a golf tournament; it’s a family-friendly summer extravaganza! Firestone Country Club is ready to welcome you and your family for a summer outing like no other.
