Each year Stan Hywet Decks the Hall – literally! The Stan Hywet Hall and Gardens puts on a spectacular decoration and lighting presentation and this year is no different! Focused around the theme of “Let Heaven and Nature Sing”, Akron’s Finest Mansion has impressed my family once again.
If you’ve never been to Stan Hywet, I urge you to go. The smiling faces of all attendees, the unbelievable decor, decorations AND the newly installed Dazzle Light Show will get you in the mood for Christmas like no other spot in Akron.
The heart of the Manor’s Mansion includes this simply outlandish Christmas Tree -one of at least 20 indoors.
Stan Hywet has always decorated their gardens with lights. This year, however, they have added the DAZZLE Light Show. The Dazzle Light Show is a 20 minute repeating presentation of lights timed to match the music piped in from 20 speakers. Usually when you have anything timed to music (i.e. Fireworks Shows) the timing is way off- but this show is different- you are never more than 10 feet from a high fidelity speaker- it makes the experience extremely enjoyable- and one obviously set up by uber professionals.
The green house this year is fully decorated from the tropical forest through the production green house with Cyclamen, Poinsettias, and Holiday Cactus. I really appreciate stepping into the very warm green house garden after a few steps through what can be a cold garden. Always a treat!
Always a beautiful mansion. Stan Hywet never seems to get old.
All I can say is that this is NOT a posed photo. My children were busy looking at some of the beautiful ornaments on this tree located in ‘the back porch’ of Stan Hywet.
