****End Edit***
Moms everywhere have started to panic about making sure they’ve got enough activities planned to keep their kiddos busy during the summer! Been there, done that! For years now, our summer plans have included a family membership at a local pool. It’s probably the summer activity my girls look forward to most. The past several years, we’ve hung our sun hats at Leisure Time Swimming and Recreation Center in Stow, OH. It’s a family run, family-friendly, one-stop shop for summer fun!

Leisure Time Swim Lessons, Pool Memberships, & Golfing, Oh My!
One of the things we love most about Leisure Time is that there’s something for everyone. Whether you are just looking for swim lessons for your kids, want to join a pool for the summer, or even want to do some golfing, Leisure Time has it all.
Public Swim Lessons in Stow, Ohio
Leisure Time offers swim lessons to non-members too! They have 4 sessions, and offer 5 different levels, from non-floaters to more advanced swimmers. Each session runs two weeks, and costs $55.00 per child, four years of age and older. Course dates are:
- June 18th-June 29th
- July 2nd-July 13th
- July 16th-July 27th
- July 30th-August 10th
I can tell you that our family, and many of our friends, have been very pleased with the swim lessons at Leisure Time. The life guards enjoy working with the kids, and do a great job of making it fun for them. My eldest has learned way more at Leisure Time’s lessons than at 2 other local pools we’ve tried.
FREE Swim Lessons in Stow, Ohio – Included with Pool Membership!
For us, this is what makes Leisure Time such a great deal. Many pools charge extra for their swim lessons. At Leisure Time, members get swim lessons FREE, they are included in their annual fee! Swim lessons for members take place during the same four sessions as I listed above, but they offer both morning and evening lesson times. If you feel that your child could use a little extra help, private lessons can also be arranged for a fee. We found this to be a great option for our eldest when she was close to progressing to the next class, but needed a little extra help with a particular skill.
Golf in Stow, Ohio
Leisure Time also has an 18 hole public golf course on site! It not only provides those of us in the pool with some pretty views, but is lots of fun for adults and children alike. Yep, you heard me, Leisure Time allows kids over 7 on the greens with supervision. They offer golf leagues for adults and kids, and even have a parent/child league which sounds like lots of fun! And, members of Leisure Time can golf FOR FREE every day, from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm! No tee times needed, either. If you get the golfing bug one day, just head on over. Our Experience at Leisure Time Swimming & Recreation Center

I can’t say enough good things about Leisure Time! Having been around since 1958, and run by the same family all those years, it’s clear that they’ve got a great thing going! The owners often walk around, greeting families they’ve come to know over the years. Honestly, they couldn’t be nicer or more accommodating.
They also offer all sorts of neat activities through out the summer.
Here are a few of our favorites:
- Family Patio Picnics – bring your own picnic, and Leisure Time provides the grills and soft drinks. It’s a great time to kick back as a family, and enjoy a relaxing evening swim.
- School’s Out! Kids Splash Parties – the pool stays open late so kids can have extra splash time with friends!
- Goldfish Day! 1,000 fish are released into the pools and kids jump in in droves to catch as many as they can!
- Leisure Time’s Birthday Party – special events are planned all afternoon with fun, old-fashioned games for the kids
- Parent/Child Golf League – talk about some fun quality time!
