It’s hard being in a relationship, having four kids, opposing work/life schedules and well I don’t have to tell you all. You know exactly what I am talking about. So we have been trying to make time for us and find different things to do, dinner and a movie is nice but we wanted something more exciting. When I heard Timberbeast Axe had opened up right here in Medina, I knew we had to check it out. I am so glad we did, it was so much fun!
About TimberBeast Axe Throwing
TimberBeast very recently opened on Route 18 In Medina. They are Medina’s First Axe throwing location! I am so excited that Medina is expanding to have more unusual fun things to do. This place is amazing, indoor fun all year long. They have 9 full-size double lanes with two targets, 1 half-size (One target, perfect for date nights!), a sweet little snack bar, 2 party rooms, one of which has a private lane! TimberBeast would be an awesome place to host a team-building event, family fun night, and so many more special event options. You are welcome to bring your own food and drinks (non-alcohol) and they have sweet tables set up and games to play in between axe throwing. It has awesome little touches, each lane is named after a National forest, the rustic vibe carries throughout!
Axe Throwing
Recently Axe throwing has become very popular! I have seen fun and terrifying videos on youtube and facebook. That wasn’t about to let that stop us from trying it out TimberBeast. I didn’t even tell Doug that I had planned this because I knew it would have caught him off guard and It did! When I told him the night before, he said “Whoa! that’s an unexpected and awesome idea”. This we could get in on. I won’t lie I was scared I would somehow injure myself but We arrived a few mins early to go over some of the safety info and to meet with Dimitri. He was so kind and helped put me at ease right away. He showed us over to a lane and went over more safety info and then gave us a lesson in axe throwing. It was so much more basic than my brain had made it out to be…stance, hand positioning and throwing movement. But don’t let that fool you… it’s much harder to get the axe to stick than that! Goodness it was fun!
READY SET THROW
You guys I thought once I got over my fear that I would be an awesome axe thrower, I’m a decent marksman so how hard could it be right? I was wrong! But I had a blast figuring it out. Doug, on the other hand, got his throw mastered in no time. I quickly realized I had to use my whole body to get the axe to hit and stay. Then Dimitri asked if I wanted to try throwing stars… BOOM that was perfect for me! I hit a bullseye right away. They also offer throwing knives which I look forward to trying those out on our next visit. This so far was one of my favorite date nights hands down…. axes up? 🙂 I loved that the staff came by and checked in, watched our throws and give pointers. This was a huge help to me and I was determined to hit a bullseye with the axe so I could run over and ring the bell. Everyone cheers when the bell rings! It was a great self-esteem boost! Don’t mind my goofy smug face, I worked so hard to get that axe bullseye!
Did I mention they offer a league? How fun would it be to compete against other people?!?!
Plan Your Date Night
You can easily book online on TimberBeast’s website or call (330-441-4991) them to schedule too! A one-hour session is $25 per person and I almost felt like an hour was perfect for our first time. Maybe I am a little out of shape but man I was beat when we got done, next time though we are going to go for two hours which is $40 a person. We have even talked about having our teenagers birthday party here. They have two great party rooms and one of which has its own private lane and if you are bringing a group there are of course group rates!
