Looking for a fun and educational way to celebrate Arbor Day? Look no further than the Cleveland Botanical Garden and the Holden Arboretum, both are offering free admission on Friday, April 28th! Not only can you enjoy the beautiful gardens and tree collections, but there will also be a free tree seedling giveaway while supplies last. Plus, both locations are dedicated to supporting the planting and care of trees, and they encourage visitors to donate and support their mission and programs in Northeast Ohio and beyond. Be sure to join their People for Trees movement and help them reach their goal of 500 new tree pledges by Arbor Day!
One of the highlights of visiting the Cleveland Botanical Garden is witnessing the tropical butterfly releases every day at 2pm in the Costa Rica biome. Visitors are even invited to assist with the butterfly release process! And while you’re there, don’t forget to check out the Hershey Children’s Garden for some hands-on nature activities and a chance to explore the outdoor gardens and wildlife.
If you head over to the Holden Arboretum, stop by the Murch Canopy Walk and Kalberer Emergent Tower, which are now open and included with admission. Take a walk amongst the tree tops on the canopy walk or get a birds eye view of the forest below after climbing the emergent tower. With the blooms popping up in the gardens and the trees budding, you’ll want to take your time and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
For those looking to make a day of it, you can even enjoy a delicious meal at the botanical garden and capture the moment at their Instagram-worthy photo spots.
