Varekai: Cirque Du Soleil at The Wolstien Center

Take yourself on a journey deep into the forest into the extraordinary world of Varekai by Cirque Du Soleil. Cirque Du Soleil has intrigued me for many years. The fantastical worlds they create blow me away. Did you know Cirque Du Soleil has been around for 30 years?

Varekai has been wowing audiences everywhere for over 13 years! Read Cindy’s review when they were in Youngstown, OH earlier this year. I can’t believe how what started out as a tiny group became a huge world wide extravaganza.

Varekai at Wolstien Center

Varekai: Cirque Du Soleil at the Wolstien Center is a fantasy rendition of the Greek myth of Icarus. Icarus was the son of a master craftsman, who constructed him wing of feathers and wax. One day Icarus flies to close to the sun and his wings melt and he fall to earth. In Varekai, when Icarus falls he lands in a whole new world. Icarus explores Varekai and all the amazing new creatures inside this world. Watch as he learns, grows and falls in love.

Rich Color

The makeup in Cirque Du Soleil’s shows are amazing. Each performer does their own makeup and it’s stunning. It take some of them 90 minuets just to complete their makeup. It’s amazing isn’t it?  All the colors they use are so rich and beautifully vibrant. I can’t wait to see them on stage in real life. These men and women are insanely talented!

 Acrobatics

To top it all of you of course have the amazing dancing, singing and my favorite the acrobatics! The things these men and women can do are insane! Climbing the “trees”, the Russian swings, aerial hoop, aerial straps and more! Doug and I can’t wait to see them live on stage.  So join us and see how Icarus makes it though his journey of rebirth in Varekai at The Wolstien Center.
