A fabulous time was had by all at the The Hungry Girl Book Signing Event in Westlake last night! Lisa Lillien is the sweetest, most inspirational woman! Barnes & Noble was packed with Hungry Girl fans! Some drove over 3 hours to make it to the event and nobody left disappointed. It was an evening of Q&A with Lisa, audience interaction, food tips, selfies, book signing, and FUN!
Everyone was greeted by a goody bag packed with samples and coupons for delicious snacks that are Hungry Girl approved as well as a super yummy ice cream nudies bar – so, yes, plenty of free food at this event, as promised!
Have you heard about how Lisa Lillian got started with Hungry Girl? It’s a great story that she shared when one of the audience asked – we asked a ton of questions and she so graciously answered them all!
Listen to how The Hungry Girl got started! It began with growing up following how her mom did yo-yo dieting, then Lisa realized this wasn’t the way to live and started doing research and bringing it to the public. We are so glad she did!
Lisa was so, so fun and entertaining. What a high-energy woman filled with a fantastic approach to food, life, and portion control. She talked about the how she lives by the 80/20 rule and how that has helped her in her life – it is way better than the yo yo dieting that she and her mom did when she was growing up at home.
She also talked about her new book and how it can be used with or without the Hungry Girl Diet – for meals, snacks, anything! The cookbook is great because there are so many recipes that can be made alongside other dishes you already make or paired together to make a complete meal.
The evening had lots and lots prizes and raffles! There was a prize for the person who drove the furthest, the biggest fan, who owns the most cookbooks, and even a game called “Smell the Tuna” which was a riot! The prizes were amazing, hundreds of dollars worth! Two of the prizes were from our very own Smucker’s company from Orrville, Ohio. Lisa has been working with the Dunkin’ Donuts brand for more than 5 years, so 2 lucky winners went home with a huge Dunkin Donuts gift basket!!
The Hungry Girl talked with us for nearly 1-1/2 hours, handing out prizes, and playing games. Afterward, we all had a chance to meet Lisa Lillien in person for selfies and autographs. She happily signed everything from books to t-shirts. She is just such a sweet, sweet person.
