We enjoy pancakes in our home for breakfast and sometimes when we have breakfast for dinner! I discovered Krusteaz brand buttermilk pancake mix a couple years ago and am a big fan. Not only is it way less expensive than other brands of pancake mixes and frozen varieties, but it has a great home-made taste.
If you comparison shop, you’ll see that a 5lb bag makes 120 pancakes for $5 or less. I dare you to find anything less expensive that taste this good!
If you are buying frozen pancakes and waffles just for the flavors, stop! You can make better tasting, “homemade” pancakes at a fraction of the cost. Plus, I feel better knowing that real ingredients are adding the flavor to my kids food.
I recently started adding the stir-in options right off of the Krusteaz bag. I’ve added blueberries before but you’ve gotta try the other easy stir-in options. We like the Krusteaz Banana Nut Pancakes recipe the best. This recipe makes 7-8 small pancakes and is easy.
Ingredients:
- 1 cup Krusteaz Pancake Mix (I use buttermilk flavor)
- 3/4 cup water
- 2 TB walnuts, chopped
- 1/2 banana, sliced thin
Directions:
- Blend together Krusteaz mix and water.
- Stir in walnuts and banana
- Heat greased griddle or skillet
- Pour 1/4 cup batter, cook 1-1/2 minutes each side, turning only once
- Enjoy!
