Southern Favorites with French Flair at Croissants Bistro in Myrtle Beach
Croissants Bistro & Bakery serves breakfast, brunch, lunch, and dinner in North Myrtle Beach. It is inland a bit, but worth the drive when vacationing at Myrtle Beach. The atmosphere is relaxed, yet refined. It is an excellent place to escape from the hustle and bustle of the beach and boardwalk scene for a finer dining experience. When the evening approaches, this restaurant offers a fine dining experience, with seating on the beautifully lit patio. During the day, it is safe to bring the entire family for a more ‘fine family dining‘ experience.
Breakfast is offered throughout the afternoon, so everyone can have what they crave any time of day.
As a multi generational party of 12, it was excellent to see our menu options doubled with breakfast and lunch during our 2pm visit. My sister enjoyed a hearty meal of Bananas Foster French Toast that we all drooled over – seriously, have you seen anything as indulgent for breakfast? It is made with Croissants’ Challah Bread with Bruleed and Banana Rum Syrup.
My parents are breakfast eaters, they really enjoy a traditional plate of eggs and breakfast meet so they ordered Two Eggs to Order along with hash-brown potatoes, bacon, and of course, a croissants. They both agreed that it was the best breakfast plate they have ever had. Who knew you could make even eggs taste better? Trust me, Croissants did! Every thing that I sampled – for blog review purposes!- taste amazing and full of flavor. Perhaps is it because they strive to create unsurpassed quality with every bite and because they incorporate fresh, local ingredients into every menu item.
My sister-in-law chose wisely when she ordered the Pennsylvania Dutch Pancakes accompanied with warm syrup. YUM! I didn’t know pancakes like this even existed.
Before I start talking about the lunch menu, I want to express to you how amazing and attentive the staff is at Croissants Bistro. Even with a large group of 12, our every need was met and then some. Our glasses were always full and smiles on our faces. Special needs for our group, which included 2 small children, a pregnant woman with cravings, and two diabetic children – were all met graciously and with a smile.
We were well taken care of and felt like we were more than welcome with our large family at this finer dining establishment. Like I said, it is fine family dining during the day, something we were very comfortable taking our children of all ages. I think it is important to give children a finer dining experience to broaden their respect and knowledge of manners and proper etiquette. You don’t get this at fast food! Vacation is an excellent time to introduce this type of dining to your children.
Croissants lunch menu has the “SC Fresh on the Menu” seal, acknowledging their committed to preparing and serving fresh local vegetables.
My daughter has a taste of sauerkraut and ordered the Classic Reuben with corned beef, sauerkraut, melted Swiss cheese, and Thousand Islands dressing on toasted rye bread. Believe me, it is as scrumptious as it looks! Croissants does have a kids menu but my children started ordering off of the adult menu years ago once they realized the variety of flavors and meals on that menu. It was one of the best, although more expensive decisions we made early on. Exposing children to a variety of foods is proven to make them healthier, less picky eaters.
Speaking of kids with an adult’s taste in food, my son Elijah ordered the Crab Cake sandwich, another amazing creation from Croissants. My son learned that he likes crab and crab cakes on our recent trip to Cape Cod. I’ve been learning to prepare it at home and he orders it at restaurants ever since.
Both of my order nephews ordered the Turkey Pretzel Club, the perfect choice for lunch any day! This amazing, hearty sandwich includes warm turkey, bacon, melted Swiss cheese, lettuce, tomato, and honey mustard dressing served on a pretzel bun. It was accompanied by freshly made kettle chips. Doesn’t this look delish?!
One of Croissants’ customer favorite dishes is the Not Your Mama’s Meatloaf Sandwich. I like meatloaf but never order it at a restaurant because I consider it a simple dish – not at Croissants! Oh, this divine sandwich is comfort food at its best bu with a kick of red pepper ketchup and caramelized onions to wake up your taste buds! Pairing it with sourdough bread had me hooked. My daughter and son both stole a few bites of it as well, it was just too good to share.
Like I said, Croissants has a kids meal for both breakfast and lunch. It isn’t the traditional boring menu either. My younger niece and nephew enjoyed Croissants famous chicken salad on fresh croissants with a side of fresh fruit. What a healthy, delicious kids meal!
There were happy smiles at this table.
And even happier smiles when they brought the chocolate mustaches that come with kids meals – can you say HAPPY MEAL?!
As you can see, we had a large group during our visit to Croissants. From the youngest (including the baby in my sister’s belly) to the oldest and all the picky eaters in between, we were all delightfully happy with both our dining experience and the food we were served at Croissants. There is something for everyone!
And don’t forget dessert! Croissants is a full-service bakery offering fresh cakes, breads, patries, cupcakes, brownies, cookies, cake pops, French macarons and more. For the local crowd, they also offer exquisite custom wedding cakes and birthday cakes. The large glass display and counter of desserts is what welcomes you first to Croissants, be sure to make room for dessert or bring dessert with you.
We were spoiled beyond belief as we received a sampling of 9 favorite cakes!
We all had our favorites including the peanut butter pie and cake, triple chocolate cake, carrot cake and red velvet!
Whether you are vacationing in Myrtle Beach or a local, Croissants is the perfect place to enjoy a delicious meal with your family and friends. Or, order many of their signature dishes to-go for parties or dinner on the beach! By all means, don’t forget the bakery too!
