Cut Calories & Carbs, Not the Sweets

It is time for Christmas baking and cooking! It is also the time for weight gain if we aren’t careful. To cut back on sugar and carbs but not on sweets and flavor, I use Stevia In The Raw® natural sweeteners for baking, cooking, and even fresh lemonade and limeade.

I use Stevia In The Raw year-round but especially for holiday baking and cooking to cut down on the sugar in my home. Stevia In The Raw measures cup for cup with sugar in recipes, so it is easy to make the switch. I promise you won’t notice the difference and neither will your family and holiday guests.

There is a really good eCookbook called Half Your Cake and Eat It Too with recipes that are specifically created to be sweet with reduced sugar.

The recipes were created by Patricia Bannan, MS, RDN, is a nationally recognized registered dietitian nutritionist and healthy cooking expert. You’ll find recipes like Banoffee Breakfast Cookies with Espresso Drizzle without missing the sugar you replaced with Stevia.

The eCookbook is called HALF Your Cake & Eat It Too because with Stevia In The Raw you can have your cake and eat it too, in other words, you can enjoy sweets this holiday season while still cutting back on sugar. Simply replace about half of the sugar with Stevia In The Raw Bakers Bag in any recipe, including those in this eCookbook to satisfy your sweet tooth with less sugar.

This eCookbook is loaded with tasty recipes that you’ll want to share with family and friends this holiday season (and beyond!) like these Pistachio Coconut Lemon Squares. Wouldn’t they be perfect for gifting?!

If you are unfamiliar with Stevia In The Raw, let me explain. It is a zero-calorie sweetener made from the extract of sweet leaves of the stevia plant. It is a sugar ALTERNATIVE, NOT artificial sugar.

Although the Bakers Bag is formulated so that 1 cup has the same sweetness as 1 cup of Sugar, it is recommended to just substitute about half of the sugar in recipes to get proper browning, rising, and caramelizing that only sugar can provide. Even with that, you save 700 calories and 200 grams of carbohydrates for every cup of sugar you replace with Stevia In The Raw® Bakers Bag. That is phenomenal!

I recommend cutting calories and carbs this holiday season without cutting back on the sweets and see what your family thinks. Start with the eCookbook or the In The Raw Pinterest page for more recipes.
