“Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” Contest for for School Teachers of kindergarten thru 12th grade school. 60 Teachers will win $1,000 prize to purchase school supplies and fresh fruit for their students! Additional teachers will also win a Del Monte Fresh® Field Day event for their school in which the entire student body will enjoy a day of Del Monte fresh fruit, games and fun activities.
How to Enter the “Teacher Monday: Cash for Classrooms” Contest
Teachers must register online with a short essay on how they will incorporate healthy eating and living into their lesson plans. Then, they need your help and those around them to vote for them!

The only way to win the contest is to enter and get those around you to vote for you There will be 10 winners every Monday, starting on Monday, October 3, 2011. The winners are based on how many votes teachers have. Each winning teach will receive $750 in cash for school supplies and $250 in Del Monte® fresh fruit coupons for classroom fresh snacks and to use in fruit educational activities.

Del Monte Fruits and Vegetables
Speaking of healthy living, Del Monte makes it easy for parents to serve fruits and vegetables at home too! Depending on your grocery store, you may be able to find Del Monte brand Avocados, Bananas, Melons, Fresh-Cut Fruit, Fresh-Cut Vegetables, Grapes, Pineapple, Tomatoes, and more. I shop at Giant Eagle and Acme in the Akron, Ohio area. The only Del Monte brand products that I found in the produce section were fresh-cut fruits, and fresh canned and packaged fruits.
The Del Monte fresh cut pineapple and the grapefruit are perfectly sized to add as a side to a meal or as a snack for a family of 4. In fact, I have purchased the grapefruit immediately after we enjoyed the first batch since it was so good. We like to pair the grapefruit with oranges during cold season to get an extra punch of Vitamin C. The grapefruit comes in grapefruit juice that is slightly sweetened, it is perfect for mixing in oranges! And WAY easier than preparing fresh grapefruits slices yourself!
Below is a simple and delicious meal we had this week with a side of fresh-cut Del Monte pineapple slices as a side. My kids love fruit and I like the convenience Del Monte provides!
We have also really, really, really enjoyed Del Monte’s Fruit Naturals, Super Fruit, and Orchard Select products. The Del Monte Fruit Naturals and Super Fruit are a much heartier sized portion of fruit than other fruit cups sold in the canned fruit aisle. It is the perfect size for adults and kids that love fruit! They products are found in the fresh produce section.
The quality and taste are so much better and fresher than traditional fruit cups too. Our family’s favorite is by far the Del Monte Fruit Natural Mixed Berry flavor. Check out the huge, delicious pieces of raspberries and blueberries! Our second favorite are the blueberries, something you won’t find in any traditional fruit cup. We enjoyed a couple jars of Orchard Select products too. When I say “enjoyed”, I really mean that we enjoyed them! Yummy! Yummy! So much in fact that my 4 year old daughter asked if we could get some more of the yummy fruit sometime after she ate some Orchard Select Tropical Fruit. I didn’t catch it on video the first time around but I did ask her say it again for the camera. She did, shyly. What a good girl she is!
