Be sure to stop by The Boardwalk in Put-in-Bay for their famous lobster bisque and more. Located right on the Harbor of Put-in-Bay, you’ll enjoy the sights and sounds of the harbor as you dine. The Upper Deck offers table-side waited service with panoramic views of the harbor in a nice restaurant setting. The Main Deck offers 3 food concessions to accommodate every taste with open air and bay side seating. My family was invited to enjoy lunch on the Main Deck in exchange for this review.
The Boardwalk Main Deck
On The Boardwalk Main Deck, you can choose from 3 food concessions where you can step up, place your order and either take it to go or enjoy sitting in the open air dining room or outdoors bay-side. This is a casual environment offering the same dishes as the Upper Deck and more.

The Fish Shak which features Lake Erie Walleye and Perch.
Book’s Seafood offering everything the Upper Deck has to offer including Alaskan king crab, live maine lobster, Key West shrimp, New Zealand mussels, deli sandwiches, warps, salads, and more.
So many delicious choices to choose from!
The Little Galley offers Black Angus burgers, hot dogs, chicken strips and fries. This is prefect for kids and for those that don’t feel like eating seafood.
The Boardwalk Lobster Bisque
The Boardwalk is all about the Bisque, whether you are on the Main Deck or the Upper Deck. The Boardwalk at Put-in-Bay is the Lobster Bisque Capital of Ohio!
We enjoyed a sourdough bread bowl of The Boardwalk’s famous lobster bisque. It was A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! It was creamy and full of large pieces of lobster.
My son couldn’t resist either. He would have ate it all if I let him, it was so good!
However, the lobster bisque was mine – so I finished it! 🙂 I can never leave Put-in-Bay again without enjoy the Boardwalk’s lobster bisque. I even bring an extra container home every time. It is available for take-out frozen so it will travel easily home with you. They thought of everything!
My son enjoyed a Black Angus hamburger from the Little Galley, although there was nothing “little” about this burger! I did a taste-test and it was delicious! It was one of the juiciest, best tasting burgers I’ve had. The plentiful toppings topped it off just right.
My husband enjoyed the Hot & Spicy Steamed Shrimp from Key West. It was a large platter of large shrimp that hit the spot. The splice blend was spicy – but not too spicy – and were tossed in a light olive oil.
He graciously shared with the me and my son – who likes food a little spicy. We all enjoyed the fresh steamed shrimp. This is another keeper that we’ll return for.
The Lobster Sandwich was also recommended. It is a Nova Scotia favorite, as well as a Put-in-Bay fave! The Boardwalk’s secret recipe is full of chilled lobster meat and piled high on a toasted bun. Wow! I’ve never had cold lobster before and certainly not a lobster salad before. This was amazing. I have a new taste for lobster now between this and the lobster bisque! 
I like the atmosphere of the Main Deck, it is casual and relaxed. The Upper Deck is nice for a nicer evening dinner but after a full day in the sun, a more relaxed casual atmosphere is more our style. It is perfect for families with kids that might get a little rowdy or they are picky eaters too.
There is plenty of seating for everyone on the Main Deck, even for large groups of 20 or more. The decor is all about Put-in-Bay and nautical with plenty of lobster decor like this 100 year old lobster! 
While we were there, we enjoyed live entertainment. Every weekend during the Summer, there is live entertainment to enjoy near Marvin Gardens Bar on the Main Deck. the bar offers a large selection of bottled and draft beer as well as specialty frozen cocktails.
