A local favorite since 1952, Chicken Patio grills their famous wine basted chicken a large 21 foot charcoal grill all day and night long. My family was invited to stop by for lunch in exchange for telling you about our experience.
When we arrived at the Chicken Patio, it was barely 11am and people were already standing in line for this local favorite! The Chicken Patio started in 1952 serving the Park Hotel, now, everyone can enjoy their famous BBQ chicken by dining in, on the Park Hotel patio, or to go. If you have an event on the island, they even cater.
The Chicken Patio has BBQ down to a science. Their famous wine basting sauce is made daily from scratch. They slow cook chicken for over a hour over hot charcoal coals for the best tasting chicken on the island. All the chicken is basted in their famous wine basting sauce. Once cooked, it is then dunked in the wine sauce for an amazing, sauce dripping dinner! For the sauce lovers, you can even request additional for no extra charge.
The meal comes with a full or 1/2 chicken with sweet corn on the cob, potato salad, and a dinner roll. For kids and smaller appetites, you can get the 1/2 chicken portion too. They husk the sweet corn daily, offering delicious fresh food for every meal. I liked that we could sit down to a hearty, healthy meal while at Put-in-Bay. I also liked that they offer a smaller portion for kids! We all thoroughly enjoyed our BBQ lunch.
