If you have been to Hudson’s First and Main shopping center, you know that Cold Stone Creamery has been a fixture there for many years.  Even in the dead of winter, you can find a line of people waiting for their delicious, custom ice cream treats. Now the Hudson store has added a new secret weapon to their arsenal of killer confections!   Inside Cold Stone Creamery, you can now purchase the most amazing Caramel Apples from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. The Hudson store is the ONLY Cold Stone Creamery in Northeastern Ohio that carries the Rocky Mountain caramel apples, chocolates and truffles! Are you thinking what I am thinking? Oh yeah, these would make wonderfully different Easter basket goodies!

I know it’s a tough job, but some someone had to taste test these edible works of art.  I took a hit for the team 🙂 , and agreed to review 4 different flavors of the caramel apples.  My family, a few friends, and I got down to business.

First off, all the caramel apples were  luscious and incredibly fresh.  In fact, I picked them up on a Tuesday evening and because of crazy schedules, we didn’t get around to tasting them until Thursday afternoon.  Truly, they tasted like I had picked them up just before our snacking frenzy began.  Each of these special treats starts with a huge Granny Smith apple.  The apple is then drenched in thick, rich, buttery caramel.  From this point on, they get special layers added on making them yummy beyond belief!

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Simple Caramel Apple Review

I’ve had my share of caramel apples over the years–they’re hard to resist.  This one, however, takes the cake.  I still don’t know how they were able to get such a thick layer of caramel on the apple.  It was simply delish!  This was my daughter, Alyssa’s favorite.  She commented that she really liked the sweet-tart of the apple blended with that most incredible caramel

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Pecan Bear Caramel Apple Review

This was the big winner in our taste test.  Both adults and kids raved about the yummy blend of caramel and chopped pecans coated with milk chocolate and white confection.   Somehow, it just seemed to have the perfect amount of everything layered onto it.  It was like an apple covered in a monster-sized turtle candy. Mmmmmmm!

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Tiger Butter Caramel Apple Review

What a combo!  This one starts with caramel, and then tiger butter is added making one unbelievably good, gooey concoction.  It’s then topped off with generous drizzles of milk chocolate.  Amazing!  I really enjoyed that the tiger butter has a nice, mellow peanuty taste to it.  I’m not quite sure how the apple could hold all those delectable toppings, but it did.

Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory Apple Pie Caramel Apple Review

This is a unique twist on an old favorite.  The caramel layer is covered by an equally amazing layer of white confection, and then while still warm, the apple is rolled in brown sugar and cinnamon.  This apple has the ability to take you down memory lane and remind you of mom or grandma’s homemade apple pie. It’s definitely hard to stop with just one bite of this gem!
