When our family heads to Put-in-Bay, The Boardwalk is always a must-stop on our itinerary. This fantastic restaurant is located right on Lake Erie and offers a perfect combination of delicious food and stunning views. Over the years, we’ve come to love its welcoming atmosphere and diverse menu, making it the ideal spot for our large family gatherings.
The Boardwalk is situated on the harbor of Put-in-Bay, offering a panoramic view of the water that makes every meal feel special. Whether you’re enjoying the fresh air on the wrap-around main deck or opting for the more formal dining experience at the Upper Deck, the views of Lake Erie and the island are simply breathtaking. It’s the kind of place where you can easily spend a couple of hours soaking in the sights and sounds of the harbor while enjoying a delicious meal.
One of the reasons we love The Boardwalk so much is its menu variety. It’s perfect for accommodating our large group of 15 people, with options that cater to every taste. The Lower Deck is especially great for families because it offers a casual, open-air dining experience. Here, you can order from multiple concession stands that serve everything from their famous lobster bisque to fresh Lake Erie walleye and perch.
For the seafood lovers in our group, the lobster rolls and lobster bisque are always a hit.
The lobster bisque, in particular, is a must-try—creamy, rich, and full of tender lobster pieces. It’s no wonder The Boardwalk has earned the title of “Lobster Bisque Capital of Ohio.”
If seafood isn’t your thing, don’t worry! The menu also features plenty of other options, including burgers, fries, chicken, and salads.
For vegetarians, the Upper Deck offers a veggie burger that can be ordered to-go and enjoyed downstairs. There truly is something for everyone at The Boardwalk.

As a Put-in-Bay veteran who has visited at least once a year for the past 14 years, I cansay that no trip to Put-in-Bay is complete without a visit to The Boardwalk.
