Are you looking for modern stoneware dinnerware? My husband and I are celebrating our 14 year anniversary this month. I can’t believe we have used the same dinnerware for the past 14 years! We were ready to update our style to a more modern stoneware dinnerware when we were introduced to Gibson Everyday. While at the International Home Show this Spring, I was able to visit the massive Gibson exhibit. I was in awe at the variety of dinnerware, kitchenware, and brands that Gibson offers consumers. I gravitated to the square dinnerware, a much more modern look than the round, scratched-up, fiesta printed dinnerware that we’ve been using the past 14 years.
Gibson Everyday Review
I was able to review one of the beautiful Stoneware Dinnerware Collections from the Gibson Everyday line. The Gibson Soho Lounge Square 16-Piece Stoneware Dinnerware Set is a gorgeous two tone stoneware dinnerware set for 4. It comes complete with 4 dinner plates, 4 dessert plates, 4 bowls, and 4 mugs.
Square Stoneware Dinnerware
What caught my eye first was the square shape. Each piece has clean, consistent lines. The plates are obviously square with the mugs and bowls a squared round shape. The interior of the mugs and bowls are round but the exterior and lips are fuller on the corners, giving it a more squared shape to compliment the plates flawlessly. I have really enjoyed the more modern style of the square dinnerware.
Two Tone Dinnerware
Second, what caught my eye was the finish on the stoneware dinnerware. The two tone design has a matte black exterior. It is smooth in texture. The interior red is a glossier finish, also smooth to the touch. I didn’t expect this in a stoneware dinnerware.
Sturdy Stoneware Dinnerware
The Gibson Soho Lounge Square Dinnerware Set is substantial and sturdy. The pieces are well designed and solid. I can tell these pieces will withstand the everyday use of my family of four with no problem. I have used them daily for 4 weeks without one chip, one crack, or anything. That says a lot about the quality of this product.
These Gibson Everyday dishes are dishwasher safe, microwave safe, and conventional oven safe up to 350 degrees. Talk about versatile!

Generous Sized Dinnerware
The Gibson Soho Lounge Square 16-Piece Dinnerware Set includes: four each dinner plate (12-3/4″), salad plates (9″), bowls (6″), and mugs (16 fl. oz.). I mention the sizes because it is a big deal. The dinner plates are large enough for even the hardiest meal.
The salad/dessert plates are the perfect size for a side salad or dessert. I especially like them for desserts because it makes the desserts look delicious but helps me to not overindulge because the plates are perfectly sized.
The bowls are huge and deep. They are perfect for soups, salads, desserts, and even cereal for breakfast. I even use them as serving dishes for small side dishes. I made a Mexican black beans with corn tonight with dinner which is 2 cans of food and it fit just right in one bowl.
The mugs are a generous size with a sturdy handle to enjoy your cup of coffee, tea, or hot chocolate topped with whipped cream.
