My kids and I visited the Fairlawn, Ohio location and are hooked! I reviewed the Fairlawn location a couple years ago but there is always something new at Great Harvest. They always have your favorites at Great Harvest but many items are changed daily, giving you something new to try all the time. In fact, samples are always free and delicious at Great Harvest, so try before you buy!
Local owners, Kim and John are the friendliest people you’ll ever meet. They love their company and it shows. They take pride in providing families and local businesses the tastiest and healthiest products around. It is a pleasure to support a locally owned and operated business with people like them and when the products are so delicious!
Like I said, they grind their own wheat daily with their stone-grind, using the entire wheat kernal. This provides you with a healthier end product compared to other breads that are made from stripped down wheat. You can taste the freshness in each bite of the 100% whole-wheat breads and treats like cookies and scones.
Don’t think you can’t afford to feed your family healthy breads. Compared side by side with the “whole wheat” breads at the grocery store, Great Harvest Bread Company loaves are not only tastier and healthier for you, the 2 lb loaves are usually less expensive ounce for ounce. There is no reason not to treat your family to breads and sweets that are better for you, while costing the same or less. A hearty sandwich is more than satisfying! Whole grains keep you fuller longer, what a healthy and delicious alternative. My kids enjoyed a peanut and butter sandwich, chips, and fresh baked cookie during our visit. Who can possibly resist that? You can also choose from Tuna Salad, Chicken Salad, Vegetarian, and fresh cut deli meat sandwiches.
Great Harvest Bread Company Products for sale
Great Harvest Bread Company has all kinds of delicious jams, spread, butters, dipping oils, granola, soup mixes, pasta salad kits, and cookie mixes. The Maple Syrup is Ohio made. You can even buy the daily milled whole wheat flour and even un-bleached white flour by the pound.
The cookies mixes are prepared on location using the fresh milled flour. We received a Chocolate Chip Cookies Mix in our gift basket as well as baked cookies. The fresh baked cookies from Great Harvest Bread Company are phenomenal. And HUGE! I wasn’t sure how if the cookie mixes could compare but I was eager to see.

They were simple to make by adding butter, water, and an egg. They taste so delicious that I had to freeze 1/2 so we wouldn’t eat them all in one night. Of course that didn’t matter when I un-froze them the next day because they were just that good! I am going to pick up several bags to keep on hand for when I need to bring a treat somewhere, they will think I’m the best baker!
