When we saw the SONIC Drive-In sign in the middle of the desert in California, it was like a mirage. It was a sweltering 124° F and all we could think of was how amazing a SONIC Blast would taste and how satisfying the SONIC Slushes would be! We pulled right in!
I received product to facilitate this post.
We were driving through Cathedral City, near Palm Springs on our way to the Stage Coach Trail Guest Ranch in Yucca, AZ. This was the perfect stopping point for lunch and cold refreshments. SONIC Drive-In in Ohio is a favorite place for my family to go for either a meal or treat, but there was something amazingly special about getting ice cream in the desert!
There was a forest fire in the San Bernardino National Forest which carried smoke for the miles and miles during our drive through California. You can see in the below picture the grayish purple smoke in the distance. I have to admit that it was a little alarming knowing that the fire was not under control, although many miles away.
We enjoyed our lunch and stop this leg of the trip, with many thanks to familiar favorites offered at SONIC.
