We were able to sample Earth Balance Organic Coconut Spread. The Coconut Spread is made of extra virgin coconut oil. It is lactose-free, soy free, glueten-free, organic, vegan, and made without genetically modified ingredients. You can use Earth Balance Coconut Spread as an alternative to butter, it is also good for baking, sauteing, and stir-frying.
We replaced our traditional butter spread with the coconut spread. My husband and I really enjoyed the added coconut flavor. At first, it was a surprise as it added new flavor to anything we used it on. We liked it. My kids like it on some things but not on others. It spreads very easily onto bread.
It has a smooth, creamy texture. I think it spreads better than margarine or butter.
I even used it when I baked Macaroon Kiss Cookies, it make the recipe even more delicious. It baked well.
I recommend trying the Earth Balance Coconut Spread if you already like coconut flavor. They also have Buttery Spreads , Sticks, and Shortening without the coconut flavor.
